Minor Bathroom Renovations
Not every bathroom needs a full strip-out. A minor renovation refreshes what's tired, fixtures, tapware, a vanity, without the time and disruption of gutting the room.
What counts as a minor bathroom renovation?
Updating fixtures and finishes without removing tiles or waterproofing, things like replacing a vanity, swapping out an old toilet, upgrading tapware, or refreshing a shower screen and fittings. It's a faster, less disruptive way to modernise a bathroom that's structurally fine but looking dated.
Refresh, Not Rebuild
A refresh, not a rebuild
Plenty of bathrooms don't need a full renovation, they need the fixtures updated. If the tiling and waterproofing are still sound but the vanity, toilet or tapware are dated, worn or simply not to your taste, a minor renovation gets the room looking current without the time, cost and disruption of a full strip-out.
Ready Plumbing handles minor bathroom renovations across the Northern Beaches and North Shore, with the same careful measurement and honest advice we bring to every job.

What's Included
What a minor renovation typically covers
- Vanity replacement, pre-made or custom, fitted to your existing plumbing set-out
- Toilet replacement, matched to your current connections
- Tapware upgrades, modern, water-efficient fittings across basin, shower and bath
- Shower fittings and screens, refreshed without disturbing the waterproofing membrane underneath
- General fixture repairs, bundled in where it makes sense to do them at the same time
Why This Option Makes Sense
Why this option makes sense
A full renovation is the right call when the layout needs to change or the waterproofing is failing. But if neither of those apply, spending on new waterproofing and tiling you didn't need is money that could have gone into better fixtures instead. Minor renovations let you upgrade what's actually tired, on a timeline measured in days, not weeks.

FAQ
Minor Bathroom Renovations: your questions answered
Plumbing problems can be extremely frustrating. Our licensed Sydney plumbers are here to provide fast, reliable answers and solutions.
How is a minor renovation different from a full renovation?
A full renovation goes back to the studs, new waterproofing, new tiles, potentially a new layout. A minor renovation works with the existing tiling and waterproofing, updating what sits on top: fixtures, tapware, a vanity, a toilet. It's a smaller job with a smaller price tag and far less time out of the bathroom.
Can you replace just the vanity and toilet without touching the rest?
Yes, that's a common minor renovation. We measure carefully so new fixtures fit the existing plumbing set-out, and the rest of the bathroom stays untouched.
Is a minor renovation a good option if my tiles are still fine?
Often the best option. If the tiling and waterproofing are sound, there's no reason to disturb them just to update fixtures. It's a lower-cost, lower-disruption way to get a bathroom looking current.
How long does a minor renovation take?
Depending on scope, most minor renovations are completed in one to a few days, well short of the weeks a full strip-out renovation can involve, because there's no waterproofing cure time or tiling to schedule around.
What if I start with a minor renovation and decide I want more done later?
That's fine. Minor renovation work like a new vanity or toilet doesn't need to be undone if you go for a full renovation later, and any plumbing upgrades we make along the way carry over.
