Bathroom Refresh in Warriewood: New Vanity, Toilet and Shaving Cabinet Without a Full Renovation
She didn't want the cost or the mess of a full bathroom renovation, just a vanity, toilet and shaving cabinet that felt current. Here's how we got there working within the plumbing that was already in the wall.

The situation
A homeowner in Warriewood got in touch about her bathroom. It was tired, but she didn’t want to spend the money on a full renovation, tiles, waterproofing, the whole room gutted. She asked us to come out and talk through what was actually possible. Once we were there, she landed on the three things that would make the biggest difference: a new vanity, a new toilet, and a new shaving cabinet.

What we found
With a refresh like this, the room stays exactly as it is, tiles, waterproofing, layout, so every new fixture has to fit the plumbing that’s already there. That’s the part we measured for on the spot.
The vanity had to suit the existing tap and waste positions, so we talked through which sizes and styles would actually work in that footprint rather than just what looked good in a showroom.
The toilet is the one people underestimate. Every toilet has its water connection in a slightly different spot at the back, and if it doesn’t line up with the existing water point on the wall, it simply won’t fit without extra work. We checked that connection point first, which narrowed down her toilet options to the ones we knew would go in cleanly.
The shaving cabinet needed the same care in the opposite direction: not too small, but not too big either. Oversized cabinets can end up covering the power outlet above the vanity or overlapping the mounting holes left from the old one, which turns a straightforward swap into a patch-up job. We sized it to clear both.
Once we’d confirmed all three, we let her know where she could buy them, with the option for us to supply them instead if she preferred.
The fix
With the new items delivered to site, we came back for the install. We removed the old vanity, toilet and shaving cabinet, took the rubbish away, and fitted the new ones in their place. Everything was siliconed into position and tested for leaks and function before we called it done.

The outcome
Same room, same tiles, same layout, but a bathroom that felt completely fresh. The client was thrilled with how it turned out, and it cost a fraction of what a full renovation would have.
Thinking about a refresh instead of a full renovation? If your bathroom’s structurally fine but looking dated, our minor bathroom renovations team can update your vanity, toilet and shaving cabinet without touching your tiles or waterproofing, across Warriewood, the Northern Beaches and North Shore. We can also help with shower screens, re-grouting, an acid wash of your tiles, tapware and shower head replacements, and fan or light replacements, so ask what’s possible before you commit to a full reno.
