What is pipe relining?

Pipe relining repairs damaged underground pipes from the inside: a resin-saturated liner is inserted through the existing pipe and cured in place, forming a smooth, structural new pipe inside the old one. It permanently seals cracks, breaks and tree-root entry points, all without excavating your lawn, driveway or landscaping.

No-Dig Repairs

Fix the pipe, keep the garden

Fixing a damaged underground pipe used to mean one thing: excavation, an intrusive, damaging dig through your lawn, garden or driveway to reach the pipe. Pipe relining changed that. Ready Plumbing repairs cracked, broken and root-infested pipes from the inside, with minimal to no mess, as a leading provider of no-dig pipe relining across the Northern Beaches, North Shore and greater Sydney.

Our plumbers have relined many metres of pipework for clients throughout Australia. It’s a specialised job we’ve invested in heavily, including the latest technology, CCTV-guided workmanship, and 20 years of local experience diagnosing what’s actually wrong so the root cause is addressed correctly in one go.

What Happens On The Day

How pipe relining works

Four steps, from first inspection to a finished, seamless pipe.

Step 1

Camera inspection

A CCTV drain camera inspects the line, and locating equipment maps the damage, so you see exactly what's wrong and where. Free quote and inspection at the outset.

Step 2

Clean and prepare

High-pressure water jetting cuts out roots and scours the pipe back to a clean surface the liner can bond to.

Step 3

Install the liner

A resin-saturated liner is drawn into the pipe and inflated against the pipe wall, working through bends, junctions and vertical sections as needed.

Step 4

Cure and verify

The resin cures into a hard, structural pipe within the old one. A final camera pass verifies the result, and you see that footage too.

Is Relining Right For You

When relining is the right call

  • Tree-root damage: the Sydney classic. Roots enter at joints and cracks; relining seals every entry point permanently.
  • Cracked or broken earthenware pipes: the older clay pipes under most established suburbs.
  • Pipes under things you love: driveways, pools, landscaping, retaining walls, bathroom slabs. Relining repairs the pipe without touching any of it.
  • Recurring blockages: if you’re paying to clear the same drain every year, relining usually costs less than the next five clearings.

When it isn’t: fully collapsed or badly back-falling sections need physical sewer pipe repair. The camera tells us which, and we’ll show you, not just tell you.

Every reline starts with a CCTV drain camera inspection and, where needed, high-pressure water jetting to prepare the pipe before the liner goes in.

FAQ

Pipe Relining: your questions answered

Plumbing problems can be extremely frustrating. Our licensed Sydney plumbers are here to provide fast, reliable answers and solutions.

Is pipe relining as good as replacing the pipe?

For cracked and root-damaged pipes that are still structurally intact, yes. The cured liner is a strong structural pipe in its own right, with a smooth bore that resists roots and build-up better than the original. Fully collapsed sections still need excavation and replacement; a camera inspection tells us which situation you have.

How long does pipe relining last?

Relining systems are engineered for a 50-year design life, and we back our workmanship with a lifetime labour guarantee. The seamless liner has no joints, which is exactly where roots got into the original pipe.

Is relining cheaper than digging up the pipe?

Comparing pipe-for-pipe, relining is often similar or a little more per metre. But excavation quotes rarely include what digging destroys. Once you add reinstating driveways, retaining walls, landscaping or bathroom floors, relining is usually significantly cheaper overall, and far less disruptive.

Can you reline vertical pipes and bends?

Yes. We have a range of techniques to reline or repair pipes no matter how simple or complex the challenge, including vertical stacks, junctions and bends, guided by CCTV cameras throughout.

How do I know if my pipes can be relined?

A CCTV drain inspection is the answer: it shows the damage, its extent and the pipe's overall condition. We offer a free quote and inspection at the outset, show you the footage, and tell you straight whether relining or excavation is the right fix.
