Gutter Guard Installation
Stop leaves blocking your gutters and downpipes with quality gutter guard fitted by licensed roof plumbers, matched to your roof and the trees around it.
Is gutter guard worth installing?
If your home sits under trees, usually yes. Leaf debris is the number-one cause of blocked gutters and downpipes, which leads to overflow, water damage and even roof leaks. Quality gutter guard keeps the bulk of debris out, cuts cleaning right back, and protects the downpipes that are expensive to keep clearing.
Keep The Leaves Out
Keep the leaves out and the water moving
On the leafy streets of the Northern Beaches and North Shore, gutters lose the battle with the trees every autumn and every storm. Leaf debris blocks gutters and downpipes, water backs up and overflows, and in wind-driven rain it pushes into the eaves, one of the most common causes of what homeowners report to us as roof leaks.
Gutter guard breaks that cycle. A quality mesh over the gutter keeps the bulk of debris on top, where it dries and blows away, while water passes through freely.
The Payoff
What gutter guard actually buys you
- Fewer blockages: In gutters and, importantly, in downpipes, the part of the system that’s hardest to clear.
- Less overflow: Less overflow in storms means drier eaves, fascia boards and foundations.
- Far less cleaning: An occasional check instead of seasonal scooping.
- Ember protection: Metal mesh guard reduces ember entry at the gutter line, relevant for homes near bushland.
- Longer gutter life: Wet leaf mulch sitting in a gutter is exactly what accelerates rust.

Fitted Properly
Fitted properly, to gutters worth protecting
We install guard the same way we do everything else: after checking the system it’s protecting. If your gutters are sound, we fit quality mesh suited to your roof profile and tree cover. If they’re rusted, sagging or poorly falled, we’ll show you, because installing guard over a failing system just hides the problem until it leaks. In that case a repair or replacement first is the honest recommendation, and guard goes on as the finishing touch.

FAQ
Gutter Guard: your questions answered
Plumbing problems can be extremely frustrating. Our licensed Sydney plumbers are here to provide fast, reliable answers and solutions.
Does gutter guard mean I never clean my gutters?
It means rarely rather than never. Fine debris still accumulates slowly on top of and through any mesh, so an occasional check remains sensible, but the difference is a light tidy-up every year or two instead of scooping out blocked gutters every season.
What type of gutter guard is best?
Mesh systems fixed across the gutter are the reliable choice: aluminium or steel mesh for durability and ember protection, poly mesh as an economical option. Brush and foam inserts cost less but trap debris and need more maintenance. We recommend based on your trees, roof type and budget.
Can gutter guard stop my gutters overflowing?
If the overflow is caused by leaf blockages (the most common cause), then yes. If it's caused by undersized gutters, poor fall or failed downpipes, guard won't fix it, which is why we check the system before installing anything.
Does gutter guard help with roof leaks?
Indirectly, yes. Blocked downpipes and leaf debris in gutters cause water to back up under the roof edge, a common source of 'roof leaks'. Keeping debris out keeps the water moving where it should.
Can you install guard on my existing gutters?
In most cases, yes, provided the gutters themselves are sound. If they're rusted or sagging we'll tell you before fitting guard over a failing system, because guard on dead gutters is money wasted.
